Helping Otaki thrive beyond Covid-19

During a crisis, such as the global meltdown, that we’re all currently in, it’s useful to see a community pull together to help one another.

Businesses that have lost revenue for a period may suffer and risk going out of action. That means lost wages for staff, lost service to customers and a loss of part of a community’s money go-round. In other words, a business might sell a coffee to someone who pays for it from their wages from farm work. The farm work provides the milk that is sold to the café, and so on.

Businesses don’t just function for the benefit of the owners; they function interdependently for the benefit of a vibrant community.

We at Flightdec are very pleased to be pitching in with Otaki Today to do something small, but hopefully significant, to help local businesses open up and get the support of the community.

Open for business and an open community
